Coach MyKeia

Coach MyKeia Thomas — Bio

Affectionately known as Coach MyKeia, she has been a pillar in her community her entire life, serving throughout East St. Louis and the Metro East area with unwavering dedication. With over 20 years of coaching experience, she began as a volunteer and worked her way up to head coach, collegiate coach, and now founder and director of the St. Clair County Volleyball Club (SCCVBC)—a program she launched in 2015 that has celebrated 10 years of impact, mentorship, and growth.

Over her career, Coach MyKeia has coached more than a thousand young athletes, using volleyball not just as a sport, but as a vehicle for ministry and empowerment. Her philosophy is rooted in the belief that “discipline and structure don’t just build players—they build purpose.”

A mother, mentor, and visionary, she founded the Girls’ Confidence Conference, a movement born from her desire to help young women reclaim their voice, their value, and their worth. Through every role she serves—coach, mother, leader, or friend—she remains steadfast in her belief that a life of service is a life well-lived.

“When your cup overflows, it’s not just for you—it’s for those you’re called to pour into. That’s how legacy lives on.” — Coach MyKeia Thomas
