Candidate for City Council Ward 6

Chris Jones hails from Detroit, MI by way of Clarksville. He spent his youth living in Ward 6, from Lincoln Home Housing Project to one street away from Summit Height Housing Project. After attending school in the Clarksville-Montgomery County School System. Chris served his country honorably as a Noncommissioned Officer and Commissioned Officer in the U.S. Army. During his 15 years of service, Captain (Retired) Jones deployed multiple times for Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom where he received the Bronze Star and Purple Heart.. He went on to earn a Presidential Management Fellowship under the Obama Administration as an Online Media Analyst. After his tenure at the White House, he went on to become an Operations & Advancement officer for Marine Corps Scholarship Foundation, where he worked closely with the Commandant of the Marine Corps to provide scholarships to the dependents of Marine & Navy Corpsmen. This catapulted him to become a lobbyist for Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America and America's Promise Alliance, where he was mentored by the late General Colin L. Powell. He continued service to his nation by becoming the Director of Military and Veteran Programs for Hope for the Warriors, an organization that helps Post 9/11 service members in all aspects of transition in either guard, reserve, active duty or veteran status.
